That could have been bad

While checking the battery condition in my covered 26SS. The water heater switch is next to the battery condition switch. I hit the water heater switch by mistake. I heard the water heater start, then stop. Even though the propane supply was shut off at the tank. There was enough gas pressure to light the heater for a few seconds, and burn a hole in my cover. The cover is a nylon material, and could have light off real easy, had the heater stayed on longer. All it did was burn a small round hole. Just can't be too careful. this could have been prevented by paying attention what switch I select in my control panel. Stan

That could have been a more expensive problem if the HWH was empty for winter.

I made a small sign for my status panel that I hang when the wh is drained.

Some even disable it when it's drained to prevent that type incident.
