Hi, do you install base plate yourself on your accord? If you did, is it easy to install. I have 2002 Honda v6, and I want to install it by myself. Any advice. Thanks

This was a temporary setup, so I didn’t add a brake buddy

Hauled great, no increase in turning radius, tracked well, noticed it get caught in some ruts ovccasionally and could feel some bucking on poor roads, but other than braking didn’t know it was back there. I’d estimate it cost me ~1 mpg.

How does the Greyhawk 29 or 21 have 22k of GCWR other Older Jayco 3100 have 17500 limit? I think it may be only about the hitch capacity

What year is your Equinox? there was a major makeover on the 2018 model. 6 in shorter. I have a Blue Ox tow kit They removed the front plastic bumper area to install.

The forces should be similar, unless the steel cable of the NSA somehow was routed in a fashion that interferred with something elese causing damage? I just inspected mine and find no evidence that it is in any way putting stress on the brake pedal arm, so it would be good to know what exactly caused the damage and was it actually the system itself, or an improper installation? I can think of a couple of failure modes (adjusting the cable too tight so that the brakes are constantly rubbing, or perhaps cable gets wrapped around something, but that would only be from the firewall to brake pedal or at the hitch as the rest of the cable is sheathed).

Thanks for the clarification.
You hit it right on the head! Improper install, cable too tight and had the computer think it needed to apply the breaks thereby locking them. The tow truck had to literally "drag" it up on the flat bed with front tires locked.

Hi Texas-I have used Blue Ox and Roadmaster on my 4800 lb 4Runners... Both were good, BUT, the Roadmaster attcachment points to the baseplate were wider than the Blue Ox and towed much better. Of course, that was the case with a 4Runner. Going forward, if I change toads, I will purchase whichever has the widest attachment points.

Hauling the jeep

I prefer to trailer my 2dr jk. It saves the off road tires and less wear and tear on the drive train. No messing with tow bars and I can back up when I need to. Just my preference.

What is your rig. For example I have 2003 Jayco 3100 towing a 7x 16 trailer. Has 7 pin and a trailer brake 7000#. With about 750 # tongue weight. I switched to NexGen load e tires commerical grade tires. About 3k per tire @ 80 psi.

Melbourne & Colorado

I have a 2010 Melbourne 29d with a 2011 Chevy Colorado set up to tow. Used Blue Ox baseplate & tow bar. It's working well, the Chev has the neutral setting in the transfer case so no fuses to pull and no running at gas stops.

Also, here's the link to the motorhome guides for dinghy towing: https://www.motorhome.com/download-dinghy-guides/

However, always verify towability in the vehicles owners manual under recreational towing!

Hi All, New to the Class C thread. The wife and I are looking at a new Entegra/Jayco Odyssey model and wondered if when towing your car behind does the car also accrue miles as if it was being driven as the coach does? We have a 2020 Equinox that, happily, can be towed flat but that wasn't a thing we were looking for at the time of purchase. Thanks.

Hello Delaware-- Most any vehicle today uses electronic devices to log miles... so most will not log flat miles towed. I am not aware of any, that still use the old cables.

After reading all the reply’s I see Jeep is one of the most popular and I have pulled a Jeep with a class a as well. I now have a new class c and am thinking of pulling a f150. It is a little lighter than a Jeep gladiator rubicon only physically larger. Has anyone ever pill a f150 or have advice.

I tow a 2015 Wrangler 2 door. I have a Rough Country front bumper with shackles to connect my Roadmaster tow bar. I built a light bar that sets between spare tire and back door. I use a Brake Buddy brake system
