Trip to Nova Scotia

Not sure if this is the right spot for this...
Taking in-laws to NS from Cincinnati. I have the route fairly mapped out but what is the best route from Bangor east into Canada. I can take the easier route which is 95 to Houlton and east to the Trans-canada highway or rt 9 through St johns.

Thanks

Probably Route 9 to Saint John,New Brunswick ( St Johns is in Newfoundland. )
Route 9 is about 90 miles, somewhat hilly & lots of turns but a good road overall.
From Calais, Maine to Nova Scotia all divided highway. I think it's a shorter & better route than the Houlton route.
I live in Saint John.
