When we got to our campground this weekend in our 2016 Greyhawk, we were dragging a pad under the RV hooked to some wires and labeled Ultraheat Shield. It looks like it was glued to the underside of the black water tank. My husband stuck it back up with some Gorilla duct tape but I'm wondering if it should be glued back like it was, or does that make a difference? (he's a firm believer is "whatever works" and I'm stuck on being "exactly right", LOL!
Taping it up well may be ok for the trip to the dealer, but do not turn it on that way. I absolutely has to be adhered to the tank. Here's the websites installation instructions, and the section labeled #2 spells out the importance of no air gaps between the tank and pad.
Just FYI, had the same thing with my Odyssey (essentially a Greyhawk), Cleaned it all up and used Eternabond to tape it up. Someone else shared that on an older post. Works great!
Should add that these were heating pads, so easy to tape up.
Dont6 know if you will damage it, if you turn it on without being fully attached. However, you will not get good heat transfer to the tank, if it is not making good contact.
Thank to all who responded. I learn so much from this forum. I can’t imagine how we overlooked this accessory (other than we live in Savannah and camp in Florida/Georgia so haven’t needed to worry too much about things freezing. Is there some sort of power-on that we haven’t located yet?
