National General Insurance

Hello,
I've been a quiet observing member for a while now, however I am troubled with something now and am seeking advice. Less than a week ago, family was on their way to a camping trip and less than 45 minutes away from home, we were hit out of no where by a driver in the opposite lane. Damage was done our camper only 2017 Jayco SLX 264 BHW however, it had to be towed. Trip got cancelled. This was on a Friday... National General Ins had it towed to a salvage yard after it was towed to a garage right after the accident. There were multiple cars involved, cops on the scene... but everything handled poorly. Cops are in middle of report, lack of information from cops, so a claim was filed with our insurance in hopes of expediting. Doesn't appear to be... waiting on National General to assign to an appraiser... but everything seems done backwards. Why tow to a salvage yard before having it appraised??? Help?? Anyone have any experience with National General (Good Sam)?

Very sorry to hear about your issues.

We have National General but fortunately for us, our unit was never damaged to the point of salvage. Makes one wonder what the garage said to NG that caused them to move it. Hopefully they will make this right for you.

My guess would be that they just wanted to get the trailer to a secure location so the appraiser can come out and take a look then it will probably go to a shop for repairs or get totaled out.

We have National General ( no accident ) and were broken into and we were very pleased with the speed and ease of our claim being paid about 3 years ago Les
