2016 Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS Bathroom Vent

I discovered water on my bathroom floor. I said to myself, you idiot you left the vent open. After taking the vent shroud down I had more water than expected. I removed the fan assembly and plastic pieces fell from the top/outside vent cover. It's all most like the plastic turned brittle from to much heat and or sun. I called my Jayco dealer and he said that Jayco has had some issues with the vent assembly. So for all of you with a 2016 or newer Eagle HT you might check your bathroom vent for cracking.

Yup the bathroom vent cracking is a common feature of the POS EOM fans.

I too had the same problem. Covered under warranty. No UV stabilizer in the plastic. Jayco knows all about this issue. Upgraded to a fantastic fan!

Has Jayco or the OEM addressed this with a different part or anything? I checked mine out on my '17 and so far so good, but thinking of ordering a new fan to be proactive.

One would hope. I'm also curious if my 2017 built on March 10th would be prone to the issue.

That's a good idea. A new fan assy. cost about $85.00 plus my leaking vent cover allowed water to run down and mess up the passenger side reading lamp on our bed. Now the light needs replaced, so this isn't just a one thing replacement item.

Had mine replaced. Jayco said the old ones were not UV treated. New one is fine now.

Another option if not upgrading to a FantasticFan is to install a MaxxAir cover. I've put one on each of the units we've owned and am a solid fan (pun intended).
