3 LP bottle plumbing

I just took delivery of a 2019 North Point RLBH. I am trying to figure out how the three propane bottles are plumbed.

Two of the bottles are on a typical auto valve that flips over when empty. But how does the third bottle work? When all three bottle valves are open, does the “third” bottle empty with the first one and then the auto valve flip to the reserve bottle when both of the first two are empty?

I asked that question for our NP 379 that we just purchased. The third tank for us is for the generator and isn't connected to anything else. You would have to either run a line or swap tanks if yours is setup the same way.

Mine isn’t that way. I can open one of the tanks in the pair and the generator runs.

That would be a total pain to have to move bottles every few hours if the gen was only plumbed to one!

Interesting and a good point. Maybe on the 379 it is plumbed differently. When I looked at the RV, it has two tanks on one side (with switch) for the main RV and another tank on the other side for the generator.

My 2019 377 RLBH the third single tank is plumbed into the main propane truck at a T where the feed from the two tanks comes in. There is a smaller T on the single tank side to feed the generator. So all three tanks will feed everything.

Here is the T where the single tank feeds in

And the T for the generator feed on the single tank side.

Thank you. That’s very helpful. So I guess if you open all three valves, the third single tank empties with the first one, and then it will flip over to the reserve?

Not yet. They were approved and ordered last Thursday. Don’t have any idea when they will be in. We are taking it out again in a week they are not getting swapped out before that. Hopefully the extra sheet metal I added keeps everything safe. Whatever else gets damaged Jayco will just have to fix.

You?

I checked this and the guy telling us how the RV worked was incorrect. It is tied to the rest of the propane sytem.
