Adjustable bed

Has anyone put an adjustable bed in their fifth wheel? Not a sleep number bed, just an adjustable base with mattress. We can't take the platform out because it's attached to the bedroom slide, so with the preinstalled platform, the adjustable bed base, and the mattress, our bed is 3 feet high! Any suggestions on how to deal with the preinstalled platform so we can lower the bed? We have a 2019 Jayco Pinnacle 36FBTS.

Well, to answer your question, yes I’m in the process of doing this now. I built a adjustable bed in my previous 5th wheel which worked well, but my biggest complaint is the gap between the top of the mattress and the wall. We bought a new 2020 Jayco Pinnacle 36SSWS two months ago, and I just started the process of building the adjustable bed. So far I’ve cut the plywood sections and installed the rails for the bed to move. My goal is to have the bed move back when you raise the head/back part so the bed stays close to the wall. Since I have to do this on Saturdays I expect this process to take a month or so. I’m taking pictures as I build the bed so I’ll post them when complete.
