Awning struts

Got new issues with our #2 awning. Seems the gas strut has bit the dust. It's less than six months old as the dealer replaced it under warranty but I think they replaced it with a generic strut. It's a Dometic awning. Dealer says nobody has the strut in stock, Dometic/Jayco. Has anyone had luck with struts off Amazon/Home Depot?

I'm sure it's not a Dometic strut there is no such thing. Get the info off the strut...........manufacturer, part number, etc. and google it. You will surely find it available.

I didn't say it was a Dometic strut. I said Dometic and Jayco both are out of that strut. I was curious what others had encountered replacing the struts.

Like I said just get the info off the strut...........manufacturer, part number, etc. and google it. You will surely find it available. Give it a try..........nothing to lose.

I did. Every place I checked, it was out of stock. I ran across this one site that had one left. Let's hope it's not a scam, lol! But it was priced like the others. Actual brand says it's Dometic. Go figure.
