Bedroom Slideout

Hello all, Brand new here and considering a smaller Jayco 5th Wheel that I can tow with my Chevy 2500HD Gasser. I am looking for information on the amount of room available in the bedrooms. Do any floor plans come with a slideout for the bedroom? I can't seem to find anything that shows one. We have a Heartland travel trailer that we can barely move in and want something we don't have to walk sideways in. From bed to wall is no more than 12 inches on all three sides. The nearest RV dealers regardless of brand are at least 60 minutes away so I'm trying to do some research online before making a trip to view any in person. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

For what it's worth, this is my 2018 Seismic. It's 45 feet with a king size bed/slide, and I've still got to shimmy in between the bed and closet, and the bed and bathroom.

My 377rlbh is the same way. Has a slide and king bed. Plenty of room to walk between foot of the bed and dresser but not so much between bed and closet. I have been told the queen bed allows quite a bit more room.

We have a 317RLOK and tow with a F-250 without issue. We stayed with the queen bed instead of going with a king and have plenty of room.

We have a 28.5 RSTS Eagle HT we tow with our F250 gasser. The bedroom has a full sized queen bed, dresser and slide out. Plenty of room for us.

I may end up getting rid of the king bed and plywood slab, for a queen as it's just me in the rig. It hasn't become a huge irritation yet though so time will tell.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm just so tired of being in a cramped travel trailer with no more than 12 inches of room on all three sides of the "RV Queen" mattress. I can't get dressed in the bedroom. I have to do that in the living area. Definitely not ideal!

Yep that would get old. As I look at the space I've got with this king bed...if I went with a queen there would be room to get dressed on those 3 sides. As of now the only space I've got is at the foot of the bed by the dresser.

We have an HT 27.5 RKDS, which is no longer made, but a queen bed, dresser, closet and linen closet slide. There is room to move just have to be careful of the television on the wall.

I think a king bed (even on a slide) limits space on the sides. We were frustrated also with not having enough room around the bed. We ended up going with a 34RSBS TT w a Queen.
Plenty of room now.
Good luck in your search.

I tow a 339 flqs with a 16' 2500hd, it has a large bedroom for its overall size and weight and my truck pulls it fine. Headed out on a 3000 mile round trip at end of month!

Our first 2 trailers were like that and I told my wife our next one will have a bed slide. Our Eagle has a nice queen bed slide that has room on all 3 sides of the bed. None of the Jayco HT line has an actual bed slide as most have a wardrobe, linen or some other type of smaller slide.

We have a 28.5 Ht RSTS and have plenty of room for the 2 to of us, and one small active Jack Russell. It is advertised as the couples coach, and that it certainly is. Look into all the other items in the coach and consider layout of the entire coach. The 28.5 has three slides and one of them is the bedroom slide. Also there is a Queen bed/couch in the living area. Very comfortable for guest.

I have a 2016, 28.5 RSTS and love it. I didn't install a TV in the bed room because I just can't watch while in bed. Plus the TV is in the way in my opinion. The 2017, Jayco 28.5 RSTS TV location is at the foot of the bed.

Our 5er came with a king and it was just too cramped. I cut the platform on two sides and got a queen memory foam mattress (sooo nice) that was 14 inches narrower. The queen was the same length as the king and the extra floor space makes it well worth it.

We have a 2012 Jayco HT 26.5 RLS with a wardrobe slide on the curb side that has four doors for entrance. When it is in, the wardrobe touches the bed but when extended there is plenty of room to walk up the side of the bed to get in and out. Same for the street side, without the slide. Plenty of room, if you aren't in a great big hurry. The flooring at the foot of the bed has about a 6'2" clearance that drops down as you get closer to the front of the trailer, but it's still pretty easy to get around. We have a queen bed in ours.
