I would highly recommend using these on both tanks to just lift them up a bit so they dont potentially smash the sensors. The little metal spaces that clip on suck!

Also after replacing the batteries, which I have had to do on ours, I had to repair one while the other stayed connected fine. Not sure why or if I accidentally hit the button putting it back together etc... But it works fine, just something to try if you have not already tried this.
