Are you saying someone can't bring a non-restricted hunting rifle into Canada any longer with proper registration and inspection at the border?
For those folks on here that do hunt in Canada, please research what this poster has said.
I have, and it's not true.

Guns are permitted under the correct conditions -
Import and export a firearm or weapon into Canada

Absolutely. I've never had a problem. Follow the rules and regulations, folks will have a great hunting trip.

Generally you want to avoid all fruits, vegetables, meats and dairy products. Packaged dry goods and canned goods should be fine. The main goal is to avoid the importation of disease bearing foods that could threaten the Canadian food or agricultural supply chain.
On top of that you should not bring more than a modest amount of alcohol and tobacco products that will be reasonably consumed by you during your visit. Also don’t attempt to bring cannabis products across the border since that is still a federal offence.

I totally forgot about Arrivecan. Its an app you submit within 72 hours of arrival. And your vaccination card.

Its one of those ludicrous things about Federal regs.. You can use MJ in Maine . You can use MJ in New Brunswick.. But that 3 k border zone...

Which makes total sense since cannabis is legal in Canada ?

I was asked that question while passing through Canada on the way to Russia and thought HOW STUPID!

And if you bought the booze or ciggies at a Duty Free store they are just that.

There's no problem bringing meat into Canada. Fruits and veggies, no, but meat is fine. You can also bring in lobster from Maine instead of paying outrageous prices in Canada. Sobey's is a great grocery store but deli's are almost non-existent. At least compared to grocery store delis in the U.S. 40 oz. of alcohol or a case of beer per person.
