Flipping leaf springs to top of axels
I have a 2015 eagle 323LKTS. When I purchased my 2018 Chevrolet 3500 DRW, it sits higher than my 2003 and 2016 Ford F250's, causing it to ride a little high in the front when hitched to the Chevy. And coupled with the deep bed sidewalls on the Chevrolet, I have issues with creating enough space to have at lest 6 inches between the bed rails and the Eagle. I can't lower the hitch because I won't have the necessary clearance from the truck to the fifth wheel. I also have a soft tonneau cover that has raised edges to connect the cover when it's rolled out, further limiting my clearance. I am going to have to remove the tonneau cover, and am thinking of putting the leaf springs on top of the axels to raise the back end of the fifth wheel. This would give me a better level ride when hitched, but I am concerned about height clearance in the front of the rv. Right now, I measure 13 ft 4 inches. I'm told flipping the springs will give me about 3 inches higher on the fifth wheel. I know if I don't raise the hitch, the front should stay at 13 ft 4 inches, and the front is the only part close to the max allowed of 13 ft 6 inches. But I am also concerned that doing that might then leave me with a lower front end while hitched, and I've just spent $250 to trade one problem for another. Has anyone done this and regretted it? Just looking for some advice before I decide whether to take the plunge. TIA.
