Furnace Fan Operation

If my RV is unused during the summer months should I be running the furnace fan continuously with the windows slightly open to circulate the fresh air and reduce the moisture during high humidity weather? Thanks.

I never do.

I do keep my roof vent open all year round. I have installed a vent cover. At minimum I keep it cracked at least 1". Sometimes I have it is wide open. But I never keep it completely closed, even during the winter it is open.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it over and researched the furnace. I didn’t get great reviews on the Dometic furnace so I thought I’d be better off not running it unnecessarily. I’ll just keep my windows open and let the air filter through and set out some Damp Rid containers. Thanks again.

I suggest you would be better off running the a/c set at a high temperature to avoid unnecessarily high electric bills. Also, generally speaking humidity in summer time isn't a big issue compared to the winter time where walls and insulation starts to get wet due to condensation. In such cases a true compressor style dehumidifier can be of great value. Damp rid works, but is limited in how much water it can pull from the air. Best regards, CA

If you have or anticipate damp problems in closets, cabinets or similar consider the Dollar Tree moisture absorbers. Same chemical but the cost per ounce seems lower than Damp Rid and they are disposable. I use them in my Florida place during the summer in a couple of cabinets. 8.1 ounce for $1.

PS I don't work at Dollar Tree.
