Installing TV and bount in Eagle HT bedroom

There is a sticker on the wall or the bedroom of our Eagle HT 23.5 RBS indicating the location for a (reinforced area?) TV mount. Has anyone installed a TV and does anyone know how big of a reinforced area is provided? We would probably remove the TV when running. TV we are planning on hanging is a 26" LCD at about 13-15 pounds. Also, anything I need to know about the coaxial connection? Do I have to jump a connection somewhere for the jack to work?

We installed ours on the outside of the top cabinet door (front curbside corner of the bedroom). The center panel in that door pops out and we screwed our tv mount to the door. When traveling, we simply close the door. For viewing, we open it and the tv is easily viewed from in bed. Very secure and it works great.

On the OP FW, there is not enough room to mount the television on a closet door. The only place to mount is on the wall. We have the 26.5HT RLS and I can tell you there is only one place to mount a television and that's where they show it. Also, that is the only place, at least in the HT version that has a hook-up for the television. Unfortunately, I haven't tried to mount a television, so I can't help you with your problem. I would suggest, if you can, that you get consider an LCD with LED lighting, it's amazing how much lighter they are than a regular LCD set.

OK, sorry. I thought the setup was similar to ours.

Thanks, in reading the posts to this thread, I realized that I should do some additional measuring. The sliding pocket door to the bedroom is the left of the mounting location, so I measured from the ceiling down to the center of the mounting target and from the center of the target to the door (left) and wall (right). Turns out my limiting factor is the ceiling with only 8.25" to the center, so maximum height I have to work with is 16" (width is 36").

Found a nice little TV selection tool on a popular computer hardware site I buy from. Turns out my maximum size will be a 22" screen and found a nice little LCD model with LED backlight weighing in at 5.6 pounds plus mount. Should be an improvement over the 8" portable we had for the kids for all those years. The 26" in the living area was also a nice standard feature on the Eagle HT.

I am still wondering how much reinforcement there is behind the wall.

As for reinforcement, maybe you could get some help from Jayco. Perhaps call their help line and ask someone to address the issue. I'll bet they know, if you can find the right person.

I agree. Their CS department is very helpfull...at least they have been to me. It's better to call them rather than email IMO.

Received a response from Jayco CS. they indicated that the is in fact a plywood reinforced area. I tried to use a stud sensor and found an area that is about 3" wide where the sticker is located. Having some experience with manufacturing practices, it is probably two side by side 2" x 2" studs. I will probably install the mound about 1/2" off center to make sure I am in solid wood. It is only a 6# TV and a 1# mount, but if I forget and don't dismount the TV while traveling, I don't want the vibration to pull the screws out. Will post a picture when done.

We installed a small LCD TV in our HT 23.5 just where the sticker is. Very solid. Don't forget to put a piece of wood inside the cabinet side to catch the long mounting screws (made that mistake myself)

On our HT26.5 I mounted a 22" flat panel w/built-in DVD to the marked location in the bedroom using 1/4" lag bolts. We traveled for two years never taking it off the wall and experienced no problems whatever.
