Latest version of Pinnacle 32rlts

We are looking at the 2020 Pinnacle 32rlts, and need help from anybody that is familiar with it. Starting in August 2019, there are a number of changes being incorporated. One is the change to hydraulic leveling, and another is the Jaysmart control system. I was told that the new touch panel would control everything, to include lighting, awnings, air conditioners, slide outs, water heaters, and everything that used to have switches. I was also told that there would be no switches, for a backup. Does any one know if this is true. I’ve talked to dealers, and haven’t found one that knows. A call to Jayco has been unreturned, as usual. Does anyone have a number, or contact, at Jayco that could answer questions on these new units. None have been delivered in the South, that we can find. If true, and the touchpad fails, and you don’t have a smart phone loaded with the system, you are dead in the water, and can’t operate anything. Any help or info is greatly appreciated.

Hi Cajuncamper! We just picked up our 2020 Eagle 321RSTS, and it has the new BMPro control panel. I understand that Eagles up to Pinnacles now have this system.

It’s true there is no switch panel any more. But the “travel critical” items (slides and awnings) are still controlled by physical buttons located at the bottom of the control panel. So even if the touchscreen doesn’t work you can still operate slides and awnings.

I know people are leery of the new technology making its way into these rigs, but only a few years ago we were still using rotary dial phones on land lines. I don’t think you would turn in your smart phone and go back to that “tried and true” analog phone, would you? There have been growing pains for these systems, as with all new technology, but it’s inevitable that they are here to stay.

I wouldn’t make that one feature the deciding factor when choosing the RV that’s right for your family.

Good luck and hope you enjoy whatever RV you decide to buy!

Hi SB James, thanks for the reply, and the information. Amazing that I couldn’t get this info from the dealers, and Jayco. Still a little leery, but this gives me something to work with. Does your Eagle have the new hydraulic auto level system, or is it still electric?
Thanks again for the info. Congratulations on the new eagle. Hope you have a great time with it.

I haven’t seen one yet, but starting With the August 2019 changes, auto level will be hydraulic. I’ve never had a problem with the electric, and really prefer electric.

Soon you will... the front legs will eventually carve the threads out of the block because there is no possible way for the grease to stay on the threads.
Five of us in this tiny forum have had it happen.
All exactly the same. Not a thread left.
Lippert just replaces them under good will. If they didn’t think there was a problem, they wouldn’t replace them for free.
And if electric was “all that” then Jayco wouldn’t be switching.

Eagles still have the electric leveling system.

My Eagle owners manual is way out of date compared to what’s actually on my rig, it isn’t very useful. I had to download the BMPro manual from the internet [emoji849]

Hopefully you’ll be able to see a 2020 with the new systems at a dealership soon.

Klassic makes a very good point.

Another reason to have that extended warranty.

The extended warranty I bought was $2000 CAD.
If I never used it, then I would get the money back.
I got it because I was worried about the leveling system, the Schwintek, and the residential fridge.

So far I’ve used $900 on one of the the front jacks. (Lippert goodwilled me the other side)
$3200 on the kitchen slide, $400 on the furnace.
I’m not getting my money back..but I am ahead, and I have 3 years left.

That is one of the most reasonably priced extended warranties I've heard of. Did you purchase it when you bought your RV? The extended warranty they tried to sell me were all in the $5,000 to $7,000 US range! What is your deductible?

Yes, I bought when I bought the NorthPoint.
Deductible is $50 if done at the selling dealer. 100 anywhere else.
Plus there is roadside stuff and food spoilage and towing.

SAL. It’s Canadian, out of BC

Doesn’t cover things like the frame and structure.

Well, thanks for the feedback guys, lots of good info. However we’ve decided against the latest 32rlts, because they changed the kitchen to only 3 drawers starting in August. Don’t know where you would put everything. The early 2020 version had 6 drawers, which is a whole lot better.

Not sure where your info came from but I picked up my 2020 RLTS late Aug. and have travelled 2500 km with it so far. Contrary to what you have heard, mine has the touch pad but also has switches for everything your concerned about. The auto level is controllable from both inside & out, as well as with toggle switches. I prefer to control the auto level from inside so I can check while it's moving. I haven't loaded the "MyRV" app yet but plan to. I have other issues with mine but the control panel isn't among them. Have another 3500 km before home.

Lyonseed, if you don’t mind me asking, what are the other issues you have? Does your kitchen have just 3 drawers? Thanks

Agreed I miss the 3 extra drawers as well, however the space where the 3 missing drawers were did not evaporate, it is now a cabinet with shelf.
