Will do, I have a trip planned for the third week of August. About 6 hours total driving time so it will be redone before I go on that trip so we will see how it does.
This is what I am going to try this round:

Well today was the day. I did the top half of my Cap. First bug and tar remover and then Dawn dishing washing soap and a good dry. Took almost 2 full cans with giving it 3 coats. Gotta say it looks pretty good right now and thats before I do any buffing. I am going to try just hand buffing to knock the nibs off and if it looks acceptable that will be it. Otherwise a little wet sanding and a light buff. Going to let it harden up for a few days before that though. Time will tell how it holds up on the road with bugs.

Had the Diamond chip vinyl attached on Monday from the roof line down to the tip of the wing of the Jayco logo or 14 inches down $300.00. 10 year warranty a 5 year warranty on the labor. Hope this stops future Oxidation. Still need to wax the cap at least two to three times a year.

I’ll be interested to hear back in a year as to how to this works out. I used to be so good about waxing all my vehicles. I need to get a good orbital and get back to it.

I keep you updated. I am going to take some closer photos of the Diamond Plate Vinyl in the next day or two and I will post them.

Just got mine back from the dealer with a freshly painted front cap and decals. All covered under warranty. It looks great but what is my next step? Should I put several coats of ceramic wax on it right away or wait a while while it cures? Should I go the clear coat route and add 2-3 coats on the cap (including decals) or just go the wax route? BTW, I use Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax and am very pleased with the results.
Happy RVing,
Jeff

Did you ask your dealer? As the paint job should be under warranty as well. Ask them for the steps to take to avoid this oxidation in future. I know there is a paint cure time but I just don't remember how long.
Good luck

If it was repainted it will have an automotive base coat clear coat on it. You should have no worries. An automotive clear coat does not require waxing to keep the shine. I would still put either a coat of wax or ceramic as it will help you remove the bugs. Normally you should wait 7 days. Your oxidization will not come back as the automotive clear coat has good UV stabilizers in the product.

We are into year 2 of our second repaint of our front cap. The first repaint was done in brown and faded in 2 years. This time we repainted it cream color with 3 coats of clear. So far it is flawless. I used Mequires One Step cleaner and wax on the sides and back a month ago. I had some oxidation on one side that got more sun while parked. The product did a good job of removing the oxidation and so far the wax looks good. I did end up applying the wax by hand. I think it looked better than with a power waxer.

I thought I would mention the repaint was about 3500 each time. Jayco picked up the bill except the second repaint they would not furnish the original Eagle Premier decals for the cap. They are out of stock and not going to be replaced. The reproduction decal is 1500. They did supply a Jayco bird and Jayco name decal as a replacement.

Do you know if the original dark gel-coat was totally sanded down to the fiberglass and prepped for paint? Usually, if the original GEL-coat is not removed totally, the new paint will eventually oxidize. They did my re-do in 2013 and the paint is still perfect, even with 4 years of the Florida sun beating down on it, up in Georgia now.

Well we got the front cap sanded, painted and clear coated at local automotive collision repair shop.
3 coats of Dupont paint, 3 coats of Dupont clearcoat. Owner of the shop did his Montana mountineer with the same paint and clearcoat a fewvyears ago. Still holding up great!
Just got 2 coats of Meguires Hydrophobic wax on it today. Ran out of wax on wax off muscles for today. Had to drop the front landing gear down to reach the top from our ladder. Lot of work but hoping the oxidation is done forever and that the bugs don't stick. Hoping 3 coats of this wax will be enough.

My new 317RLOK delivered April 23, 2019, has about 18 inches of oxidation across the front from the roof line down. Unit was delivered missing one of its corner decals, a small water stain on the bathroom ceiling, and a whole list of items that were also noticed during our PDI. Most of them still not fixed. Also, most of them are purely superficial, furnace works, A/C works so from what the repair technician says... I'm lucky. I think I might have a lemon. I can even feel the seam in the T&G plywood floor in the bedroom, like it isn't pushed together all the way.

Cannot remember where I recommended the 303 ceramic spray sealant. I will post a pic that shows the left side of the cap untreated and the center with it applied.
If you zoom in you can see the difference in the beading.
Then here it is applied on that left side.

303 is not going to stop this poor workmanship from failing. This isn't normal oxidation or sun fading.
