pinnacle interior step louver

Lots of interior dust after a tow. Parked and running roof vent fans lots of air is coming from the louvers under the steps. I'm thinking when towing dust is also coming into the 5er through the basement. Anyone add a air filter in that step vent?

We thought about it. Then read somewhere that by doing so it would restrict the air flow for the furnace. Not sure how accurate that statement is but didn't want to take any chances.

As open as the basement storage is that will never be an issue for the furnace, but it could disrupt the removal of the cold air if not kept clean.

Been thinking about blocking mine off. Pulls in too much hot air when we have the bathroom exhaust fan running. Will that cause issues??? Maybe unblock it during the winter months?
