Power converter,hidden breakers

Howdy howdy. New to the forum and need some help with a electrical problem.

What happened. Was outside doing some weed eater work and had to move my 50 amp shore power cord. So I shut off the breaker disconnected the cord. Did my work plugged it back in turned the breaker back on went about my work. Go back inside and my a/c in the bedroom isn’t running any more and my microwave is no longer getting power. And the hot water heater is not working. And all the gfci outlets are not working. No tripped breakers one possible blown fuse. Will confirm when I get home.

Power converter problem?
Weird part is my batteries are getting charged.
Another weird part is if I run the generator my microwave will operate. Haven’t checked the rest. Will do that when I get home.

I did pull my converter out and give it the good ol sniff test for a smoke leak and observed about 5 diodes or transistors that the wire was parted on one side of it. And also the cooling fans that cool the circuitry are not working.
The wizard button is still operational and does what it’s supposed to. Control charging voltage to the batteries so they don’t get overcharged. I ran the wizard thru the three outputs and all are normal.
One fuse on the converters circuit board was clear glass that didn’t look like it was blown. The other fuse was white and I couldn’t see if it was blown or maybe that’s what it looks like when it is blown. Will do more voltage meter work when I get home.

Is there any other breakers that are in hiding that I am missing to the hot water heater an ac unit in the bedroom. The main ac works as expected with no issues. Fridge works. All lights work tv etc. it just seams the Gfci side is knocked out

go back outside and reset the main 50 amp breaker. Hard off then hard on. You only rest 1/2 of the main breaker. Converter is fine.

I think I know what you mean by hard on and off.. Means to leave whatever I have on inside the way it is and trip cycle breaker?

no. It means to turn the breaker OFF hard. Then turn it ON hard. Don't baby it.

I turned all the breakers off on the Inside. And flipped the outside breaker one time came back inside and turned the main breaker on then the rest of them. And things are back to normal.. Saved me 300 dollars. I don't understand with the none connected diodes or transistors on the converter main board are making it not work. Anyway much thanks for the tip and the quick response to my post

I told you why it worked. When you turned the outside main off it disconnected both legs of the breaker. When you turned the breaker back on it did not make contact with both sides of the breaker. You only had 1/2 of the 240 voltage going to your RV. 50 amps RV service is 240 volts. You only had 120. Your electric panel is designed to not be able to install a 2 pole breaker and access 240 volts. Your 50 amp RV main delivers 120 down one side and 120 down the other side.

Get yourself a voltmeter and learn to use it. It can save you a lot of head scratching!

Am well aware how to use the voltage meter. Wasn’t within armed reach when I was going through this. But thanks for the advice

Thanks for all the welcomes.. Nothing wrong with learning something new. Had No idea if you flipped a breaker only half of it would actually make contact .
