Power issues

Hello all.
We lost power and the shore cord where it connects to the 5th wheel was a little brown. We replaced the cord still had issues then my husband bypassed the surge protector and got most of the power back.

We have no overhead lights, waterheater or heat. The charger for the 12v system is not getting power.

No one can come out for a week, does anyone know what we can do?

The first place I'd check would be the converter. If you have a multi-meter check your power center (this is where your circuit breakers and fuses are located) to see if you are getting 120V into the converter and 12V (actually should be 13V-14V) out of the converter. If the converter is putting out power then it has to be a fuse or a possibly a bad ground.

Is your rig 50 amp? Did you reset the main breaker? One side may have tripped and just not moved the handle.

This line lead me to believe you were getting some power into the rig...

We found the problem. The twist lock recepticle on the rv was damaged internally.
