Problem with slide toppers holding water

We just got back from our first trip in our new Jayco 5th wheel. The only problem we had was that the two slide toppers that we had installed at the dealership held water during Tropical Storm Lee this weekend. I let the slides in three times on Sunday just to let the water off. How can this be fixed?
I don't see anyone else putting their slides in at random.

I got the same problem, After it rains in New Orleans, I just take the long handle brush and hole the top down and drain the water. I don't anyone of those at tight enough not to hold water.

You can also put a ball on top of the slide and push it to the center. Then the water will run off. Just don't forget to take it out when running the slide in. You will need to carry a ladder to do this.

It is a very common problem.. People use things from beach balls to air mattresses between the slideout and awning to remedy this..
I just pull my slideout half way in when I want to dump the rain water and put it back out...

x2 me too, with my first TT I also thought this to be a problem but after doing my research I found there was not alot that could be done. So I just have got use to bringing my slides in after a rain to dump the water. The slide awnings are still worth it to me,in my opionion, there main purpose is to keep trash from collecting on top of my slideouts, which they are great for that.
