Questions...

I just picked up my first 5th wheel jayco 29.5bhds. Love it so far. Found a few things that I will have to call for repairs but nothing major.

Questions 1 is there is a switch next to the stairs. It says "lights" so I'm assuming it is supposed to be for the stair lights but nothing happens. I have flipped the switch a 100 times, checked the jaycommand to see if I missed something there but I can seem to get any lights. Am I missing something? Out dealers PDI walk through was a joke. And not very helpful.

Second question is I have a mopeka tank monitoring kit from my old travel traler that I just purchased last fall. I looked on the bmpro website and it has the same looking sensors (all be it different color) and I was wondering if and how to connect them to the jaycommand centre.
Has anyone had success doing this?

Third. One of the blinds is super tight to move. Not the venetian style but the one with the string on the side. Is there a quick way to adjust them so the Raise and lower a bit easier?

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to Jayco Owner's Forum from New Hampshire. We just got our first 5th wheel this month too... also 'loving it'. We have an unmarked switch beside the stairs that powers the ceiling fan... not sure if you have one of them.... do you have the winegard gateway? If so, maybe is the on/off for that? Are you plugged into 50 Amp while you are turning it on/off? I ask because some stuff only works when you have 50amps. Check the awning lights, maybe it's for them?

I checked the awning lights... and nope... I haven't checked the fan though so I will try that.

yeah... mine is a big brown switch... does nothing, but that's because I'm at home plugged into 15amps We tested it at a campsite and it works.

So I should clarify. The switch is next to the outside stairs. Not the bedroom stairs.

It's immediately to the right of them.

aaah.... that turns on the night lights for the stairs. We can't see anything during the daytime but once it gets dark, that turns on a light beneath the rig that lights up the ground below the stairs. This is ideal when you are in near total darkness so it's easy to find the staircase.

RE:Shade tension
Follow the cord down to where it is attached. A bobbin looking device is where it’s terminated. Try slightly loosening the screw see if you can just a little slack in both sides. Retighten the screw. It does not take much to change the cord tension.
