Recliner Sliders

Hi all...we purchased an Eagle HT fifth wheel equipped with two Thomas Paine recliners. These are nice chairs, but they require moving them into storing and traveling positions to accommodate a slide out. This requires them to slide a small distance on the factory installed vinyl flooring. At one point, their weight tore a hole in the vinyl. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and was able to resolve it? Traditional furniture sliders won’t work or stay in place.

On a previous trailer I punched holes in the sliders and
zip tied super sliders under the chairs
It worked to protect the floor. It did make the chairs slide easier.
We tied them down for travel to D rings in floor and put pillows around them

Hey Whammon- I have the same issue with those recliners. Tried putting carpet under them but that was a hassle. I'll be watching this thread to see what others have been using to prevent wear.

I installed 4-1. Inch casters. I got at true valve hardware. I took out the little bumpers and drilled thru the pipe and bolted the casters to pipe. It roles around very easy.l store under dining table. I move the dining chair to front side two chairs fit nice.Way better than. Lifting up on couch .it is a little higher but still very nice

Mark..I decided to give these a try. They’re small, with poly balls and you can bolt them up using u bolts from the hardware store. No drilling. 450 lb capacity. To keep them in place, they have little brakes on them, and if you want to slow them down a bit, put em on carpet. Still would be easier to move around rather than stock configuration. If your not happy, unbolt em and send em back. They’ll be here shortly. See what you think. Nothing lost but your time..

We put the felt stick on pads on them and have had not problems yet for 2 seasons of camping.

Been there and done that! We also have a new 2019 HT Eagle and we too dug up our floor. These are the small plastic gliders found at any hardware stores. We've used these now for 4 trips and about four months and they work great!! We too tried the felt pads but they do not compare. In the pictures, we did remove those small hard round plastic standoffs before attaching these new gliders.
