roof oops

Has anyone used the dicor patch for any issues on their roof for something like this pic? I just did this on my brand new HT 27.5 rlts. I think I rubbed a low hanging branch in my yard. Want opinions...

Doesn't appear to be any damage other than the rubber roof.

I would put a small piece of Eternabond tape over the hole, maybe fill it with some Dicore first.

I did something similar. I covered it with a piece of electrical tape, while I had a small 4" wide roll of Eternabond. Fixed it once, and never touch it again.

I just covered all my caulking on the roof with 6" Eternabond last week, except for the tv antenna . Wish I had done it years ago.

Thanks Sundancer330 and Grumpy - sounds good to me. I will get this tomorrow.

Do I get the Dicor self-leveling, or is there a different type of dicor?

Since its such a small hole you could use either the leveling or non leveling Dicor

Eternabond. I carry a role of 4" just for this type of stuff, although it hasn't happened yet. Might have jinxed myself. Heck I carry a caulk gun and some Dicor 501 as well for whatever reason. Can't have too many "fix it" things onboard.

Yes, I understand that now. Just glad I was home. I had it moved by the trees to have my new RV carport installed. I was washing it when I noticed "a leaf" or something on the edge.

Thanks again all, I will get the proper fix tonight and then camp this weekend as planned!!

Maybe just a little dicor lap sealant!

+1

I just traded-in our 2007 Eagle we purchased used in 2011 and it had three or four Eternabond patches on the roof. I was responsible for a couple but there were others already there when we bought it. By the time we parted company the Eternabond patches were the best part of the roof.

Get a tube of the self leveling sealant they use to go on everything that attaches or goes through the roof. Just put a dabb on the tare hole and extend it about 2 inches bigger. That should work. You can get the tube from Amanzon cheaper than the dealer.

What do you think about using flex seal? They make it in a tube. I used it after a branch landed on top of my old Thor ace 30.1

Citgodan:

Tell us abut your RV carport you're building / having built? Here in NC the sun roasts a RV roof, and it costs $60/mo just to park at a storage facility. Thinking about one. Thanks.

It may work fine but I would be worried it may cause some sort of reaction with the roof material and cause more problems, better to play it safe with Dicor and Eternabond tape.

Yes, I purchased through carport.com - love it. I am in central FL, so we get a ton of sun through the year. I bought a 12x36' A-frame vertical roof (rain proof) with sides and love it. Now I don't have to worry about my unit getting baked everyday! Cost was $3800, but fully worth it to me.
