Wondering why the forum isn't where the people putting the ads for sale or wanted, cannot go back in and delete when items are SOLD??

It's impossible to look for anything on that site because almost all ads are old and have been sold.

When an item is sold all the original poster has to do is notify a mod. We actually scan them in our spare time looking for SOLD items that we have not been notified on.

The forum software is set up to allow an OP to edit a post for a short period of time. After that a mod must edit it. This prevents a lot of confusion in the long run.

This puts the responsibility to let the forum know when the item is sold on the original poster.

The thread will be closed as soon as we know.

Suggestion for the mods: Why not set a 90 day limit on for sale posts? All ads 90 days old would be deleted, but members could post a new ad if they wish. Seems far more reliable way to keep the For Sale postings "fresh" and cleaned up than relying on posters to notify you.

Thanks, Now that is a constructive idea. I will ask our admin about it. Seems like an ideal solution to a thankless job.
