I didn't think the factory could install them? Are you sure the selling dealer didn't install them before your pickup date?

No. They (Crestview RV, Buda, Tx) said they were able to get the factory to add them to the build as ours is still on the line. At that price I couldn't pass it up.

At least I know what I have on mine and the others and I'm not relying on somebody else's install methods. Sorry, I just don't trust very many manf. Or dealers.
I agree! I'm talking installed, each. Not just materials etc. Which, for some who aren't into doing the install themselves might not balk at. Hopefully if they're done at the factory during the build they should be done right. Or you would think so anyway.

They also said they'd be warranty covered as factory installed should there be any issues.

This is Exactly why I decided to have mine done. Once the dealer told me (Colerain) that they could get Jayco to install them at the factory, I went with this option. I'm glad I did and feel if I ever run into any issues with them over the next 2 years, they are covered by Jayco.

To each their own. Not everybody's up to doing their own stuff. It's not about the money to me. If I do it, there won't be a need for warranty, as it's done right. Anyway, if anybody wants details on doing it yourself, shoot me a PM.

Big JohnD, I will probably hit you up at some point for your valuable insight! I don't have the slide toppers and on the 3 occasions that we've camped with the 5er, it's not fun getting up on the roof and sweeping the slides! Alas, the purchase for 4 slide toppers is not currently in the budget! To be continued...

No idea you could even ask to have the factory do it. I would have... At this point I think I will try to put one on myself. I'm pretty handy...

It's in the option sheets. If there is something extra or "special" you want done or left off, they'll also do pink sheet items, like leave skylights out, delete graphics etc. It's free to ask. Costs a little extra since they have to babysit your unit down the line, but worth it sometimes.

All I did was call Jayco and talked to them and they said they would install them at the factory. One of the very few add ons or changes they would do for the camper I ordered.
