Trouble with slide

We have been having trouble with the kitchen slide since we purchased it. We have tried a few things but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions

Found this older thread, Linky.
Maybe the model is different, not sure, but they had problems with the kitchen slide, too.

What type slide system does it have? Schwintek, slim rack or rack and pinion, etc? Have you tried lubricating all of the moving components?

Follow the link below to a YouTube video from Lippert on how to lubricate the slide mechanism. I would also lubricate the rollers under the slide.

Are you on shore power, or just battery?

Lubricate everything, but I’ve had two motors go on me in the few years I had the trailer. Both on the kitchen slide. Taking the motors apart, cleaning and reassembling helped. On one there was garbage in the gears. Looked like a small metal part that was enough to jam the gears, so possibly was in there from new and shifted. That failed to go in or out reliably. The latest was the brake was kicking in when trying to retract my slide. I haven’t fixed that yet, but just removed the brake mechanism from the top of the motor and it works for now at least. The noise on the one with the brake removed has increased so that will likely be replaced rather than rebuilt in the end.

I had similar troubles with my kitchen slide after a couple of years…even after lubricating the rollers, motors and slide seals…..but after going from 2 12 volt batteries to 4 6volt batteries in parallel to create a 2 12 volt power system made all the difference in the world…no more problems so far….no pushing on slides, no slow motors sounding like they are straining….the other slides work great too….
