Underbelly storage

I carry a little Giant ladder and was wondering if anybody stores equipment under their camper when traveling down the road? Do you just strap it up or is there a system that can be purchased?

A Little Giant has to be able to "function" when you need it... I'd be worried that it would be loaded-up with grit and corrosion if somehow racked underbelly. And if you tried to build some type of compartment or it, you'd negatively impact your angle of approach or departure to the trailer wheels....

Agree, I also carry a Lil' Giant and would not recommend exposing it to the road debris under the RV. I carry mine in a custom made (by me) truck box in front of my fifth wheel hitch.

We store ours in a bag in the closet.

I see your point about the road grit and dirt making the ladder unusable...hadn't thought about that. So....anybody carry their blue totes (grey water/black water) under their 5th wheel? Pictures and ideas please.

For the lighter items, you might consider strapping to the ladder on rear of trailer, I do this with step ladder. As for the grey water tote, will it fit between the hitch and tailgate? I shove all kinds of stuff around the hitch (making sure the hitch is free to tilt and all) and just stay down to right below bed rail height, I also have a long bed, this makes life so much easier too. Another consideration would be to build or buy a rack to mount to the rear of the trailer, maybe using the accessory hitch

On our old hybrid, I had installed some light duty hooks on the frame and bungeed the portable grey water tank there. It kept the dirt and smell out of the trailer and was easy to get to it we needed it. Thousands of miles of towing and it didn't move or shift.

Something like this for the tote might help:
