Use Fresh Water Tank While Hooked Up

Some of the places we camp have water hook ups but the water doesn't taste good. To have better water, we take a partial tank of fresh water with us, then I use the drain to fill a pitcher for drinking and ice. I would like to use the pump to the sink, but my plumbing skills are a bit leaky.

Would I go just past the pump output, install a 't' then a check valve. The line from the 't' could be brought up to a reverse osmosis type faucet installed at the sink?

My water lines are all clear plastic, where would I get the fittings and check valve, or would something else work better?

How would it affect winterizing?

Thanks for any help.

Whether or not you're hooked up to campground water, you can still draw water from your tank. It should just be a simple matter of setting your valve lineup. Set the valves the same as you would as if you weren't hooked up to the campground water supply.

The '09 Eagle doesn't have the valve setup. There is a gravity fill for the fresh water and a hose connection for campground hook up.

I did this in another 5th wheel we had for the same reason. Had to add some selection valves, an addition feed from the water pump to the cold water line that fed the kitchen sink.
Thinking about doing it on the new unit, just need to look at how it is plumbed. If possible, I may add an extra filtered water spigot and just feed that.
if you are not plumbing savvy it may be more work than you would want to handle.

I'll post some pictures once/if I get it done.
