Water Compartment Drain

This weekend I hooked to the city water to test the new faucets. Unfortunately I had a bad connection with the water hose and water was in the water hookup compartment. A few minutes later water was dripping out of the underbelly. The culprit was the small grommet used for overflow. It does not drain to the ground. Is this a miss at the factory?

I don't think so. Mine just runs down into the all metal trim and out. I guess if it bothers you it would not be hard to extend it.

For me it's not an issue.
