What's your "go-to" caulking/sealant?

I've seen OSI Quad Max, Proflex, etc. It's time for me to add some sealant to the trim of my rig. What's one you use and get the best results from?

For the roof, I have only used Eternabond.

For the walls, I have only used OSI Quad. Iit is very easy to purchase around here in the big box stores. If you have not used it, it is crazy sticky stuff. Cut a tiny tip to get started. Apply painters tape everywhere you do not want it. I uses super soapy water to smooth it out, and have a few clean up paper towels for your fingers. I found you can apply more over what you have smoothed out with your soapy water.

OK, little side question for you all. I need to seal the metal Van roof to a plastic AC housing on the roof of my Sprinter van (not a traditional RV AC unit. This is a MB only deal). Any thoughts on the correct sealant to use in that application?

Pro Flex would be my first choice.

I use Quad for joints, but warn you, it is difficult to get out of the tube. Needs a lot of smoothing. For roof I use Dicor self-leveling. Eternabond with a Dicor edge for any penetrations.

Midnightmoon: I would also use Proflex specifically because it is designed for expansion and contraction. If you want extra protection use Proflex for the fastening and Dicor self leveling for the edges.

I've used OSI Quad Max before and yes it's very sticky. Just checking with you guys on what you recommend. Proflex and Dicor non-leveling seems reasonable and easy to work with

Thank you. I will get some ordered. It is something that I need to take care of as soon as the snow melts enough to work on it.

I’ve used Proflex to seal the seams on the front of ours (aluminum siding) just as an extra precaution. It’s fairly easy to work with and adheres to the metal well.

Thanks. Yes, I think that is the way I am going to go. The "warranty fix" made it worse than it was before. Time for me to do it right and be done with it.

Yup!
I always carry those plus Eternabond. OSI Quad is a little tricky, but once you figure how it behaves, a dab of spit on a fingertip smooths it just fine.

SikaFlex is very good also. Highly used in the construction industry.
