Wash Your Hands and Buy a Jayco

Vacationing in the outdoors looks extra-appealing this year with Covid-19 concerns. Do you think RV rentals and sales will spike?

I doubt that will make much difference. You still have to deal with people buying or renting as well as in RV parks, dump stations, stores for supplies. Sorry but unless you go completely off the grid and have been prepping for this for some time it won't make a difference.

We are trying to leave to go cross country soon. Our biggest fear is not people nor crowds but travel bans. I don't want to be in Cali trying to get home to Maine with some trooper saying I must quarantine. Big Bro is not my friend. Covid has been around a long time.. It is not new though it may be a new strain.

My neighbors seem to be isolating themselves at home yet there are no cases anywhere around here.

The big RV show this past weekend was packed as always. Nobody looked worried, or had a mask on. There was one dealer salesman who said he hasn't sold any units. And, unless there's a national shortage of 'SOLD' signs, we didn't see many stuck to campers. There was one more day left to the show, so maybe sales picked up.

I think we almost have the perfect storm of events, Covid-19, Oil prices crashing, an election year and the market crashing because it was time and now it has an excuse. I don’t think buying a new RV is going to be on a lot of people’s mind. It’s the first industry to take a hit.

So to the OP, wash your hands, stay away from crowds and enjoy your RV. But it’s not the “Walking Dead”. And if you want to buy a new RV, wait a bit, prices and interest rates are going to drop.
