Seneca MH2500 Tranny Spin-on Filter Donut

Had my 48 mo. full tranny service two years ago. Decided to change the external spin-on filter yesterday at 24 mo. as recc. in the Allison docs. Although it was listed on my full-service invoice, no magnetic donut was present when I took the filter off. Just ordered one from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Question: I'm assuming the donut just slides over the threaded filter post? Seems simple enough but better to ask before I pull the filter off.

Thanks

I think the one you have listed goes in the pan.

I just replaced my filter and it came with the magnet. Is this the filter you got? If I remember correctly, the magnet just sits on the filter as you spin it on.

The one I bought is an Allison with the same part number but it is black instead of red. Perhaps it is an earlier version and it does not come with the magnet. Figured I would just clean and reinstall the magnet from the used filter.

Thanks

That's what we use to do with the earlier SENECA's that came wtih the Allison MH 1000. You just wiped it off and reinstalled it.

Some people never realized it was on the filter and tossed it. OOPS!!
