Trik-L-Start

Good day fellow Jayco owners. Have reviewed the various postings on keeping the chassis battery charged and I am convinced the Trik-L-Start would be a prudent addition to our Seneca. Have a 2018.5 Seneca and wondering if any advice out there on installation? Obviously not sure if install instructions are complete or if any tips on best location and installation method. Thanks in advance.

Hello Gary,

We have a 2017 36FK.

I'm trying to understand why you would want to add an additional charger to the system.

Is your Seneca kept plugged into shore power when stored?

In the battery bay there is this neat solenoid that monitors both the chassis and house batteries. It will allow the inverter to charge the chassis batteries when stored, and on shore power.

Thanks for the reply. I should have read the manual closer. Reading older threads for other than Seneca that chassis not charged by generator. Glad this was added to Seneca. Didn't want to add anything additional that was not needed. Manual does indicate that after house batteries "are sufficiently charged" the chassis batteries will be charged.

It was even on the 1st generation (KODIAK) SENECA's, at least 08 and up.

We added a TLS to our '08 Seneca since as we measured the chassis' batteries they were not being charged by the coach charger from the factory, but the chassis' alternator did charge the coach batteries.

We will also be adding a TLS to our new motorhome.

Thanks

Appreciate the feedback by all. My son in law found out the hard way that his older Class C does not have such a feature even when running the generator. Merry Christmas to all.
