19BH Water Pump Question

On my 2008 19BH the water pump will not operate off of the brand new auxiliary battery, only shore power. Is this how these units are setup?

My previous trailer would operate the water pump off of the battery so it seems strange this one wouldn’t.

Thanks for any comments

I don't think that is right. I believe the point of the pump is so you can dry camp. but I don't have that model camper. what does manual say about it?

I agree. The manual says that the pump will operate off of auxillary as long as there is a sufficient power source. Well, I just dropped in a new battery yesterday so it should be sufficient. I checked all of the fuses but I'm starting to think there may be a relay or something that I need to check. Just havent had an opportunity to dig a round a bit yet.

Thanks for the reply though.

The water pump is 12v so it sounds like you didn't hook something up the same to the battery. If it works when plugged in its getting 12v from the converter. Double check and make sure you don't have a loose wire at the battery

The obvious question, are any of the other 12v items working off the house battery? The lights should all work. If nothing works from a good battery, but works on house, you probably have a blown main fuse at the battery, or a bad battery connection.

If everything else is working, that is an odd one. Doubt it's a circuit fuse, because the same fuse is used for battery and for converter power.

Thanks all. Yes everything else is working off of the battery so its not the wiring. But, I did get the pump working. I plugged it back into shore power and hit the pump a few times and it started working. Switched it back over to battery again and it started working so it appears to be either a faulty pump motor or it just needs to be run a bit. I just bought this unit and I think its been sitting a while. It'll take me a bit of time to get everything functioning nicely I suppose.

Thanks Again
