2018 245rls ac short cycling

The dometic ac in our 2018 245rls. Short cycles all evning and all night long. It runs for one minute the shuts off for one minute. Last night I set the thermostat for 75. And checked the what the thermostat said the room was. And it said 75. But yet the dometic unit continued to turn off and on all night.

Do you have a wall mounted thermostat or is the temperature adjustment on the unit?

On our most recent trip 2 weeks ago in our new TT, we ran the AC to test it out well and the weather was warm enough to justify running it. The fan portion ran almost constantly, the fan would cycle on/off with anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds time intervals between being on or off. We could hear the compressor cycling on/off at longer intervals and not on the same schedule as the fan. We turned the fan on hi and constant to stop the on/off issue so we could sleep.

We had a list of warranty items needing attention, so that was added to the list. Dealer has the TT and not heard from them in a couple weeks, but we won't be using the TT until July at the earliest, so....

If found this short but comprehensive list of reason for short cycling...

"Air conditioner short cycling can be a result of several factors such as an obstructed compressor, leaking refrigerant, faulty thermostat, dirty air filter, icy coils, electrical issues, or the fact that the AC unit is too big for the area it is supposed to cover."

Some of these can be easily corrected (cleaning the filter or shutting off the unit to clear the coils of ice). You can also shut the unit off, allow the inside temperature to rise five degrees above the thermostat temperature then turn the unit on to see if it will run consistently until the temperature drops to the thermostat setting.

Once it gets to the thermostat setting does it shut off for some period of time or does the short cycling continue to occur. I would think there would be some time or temperature delay in restarting the compressor after the thermostat temperature is reached (maybe one of the A/C experts can chime it to clarify). If that doesn't occur I would think the issue is the thermostat.
