A/C in a Jayco Jayflight SLX 174bh

We had our first successful camping trip with a 7 y/o boy, 4 y/o girl, & a 12 y/o Yorkie. It was a 110 degree heat index where we camped. My question is how do you experienced campers work your A/C in this heat...run it constantly or give it a break periodically?

I have a roof mounted 13,500 btu A/C.

Second question...what is the size of my hot water heater valve?...so I can drain it.

Thanks!!

Run it, they are made to run. Get the humidity down for sleeping.

How well did it keep up? In-laws were looking at this model and was deciding between the 8k btu vs the 13.5k btu roof option.

Ran awesome. Used it on the low setting and it stayed around 74-76 degrees the entire time during the day...even with the kids in and out. I woke up and it was 72 with it running on low all night. Very little condensation if any.

We've found that the 8K btu does fine up to about 90-95. If they are going to be spending a significant amount of time in areas where it's above that I'd definitely opt for the 13.5K btu roof mount.
