Make sure a vent is not aimed near the thermostat

Also check the divider that separates the intake and exhaust. Tape it up good

If it’s like the compressor is trying to start and can’t it could be low voltage. Or bad starting capacitor

Make sure outside vent is unobstructed and clear. Clogged vents can cause it to overheat and shutoff prematurely. Worth a shot.

If the unit is running then stopping and running again it could be low on freon. There is a safety switch that won't let the compressor run if pressure is to low. After a short period of time enough gas will collect and it tries again.
This is ballistically a simple system and some house repair AC guys will work on it. But if it has to come out to be repaired you will probably need a specialist RV repair guy.

How old is the unit?
They are pretty much disposable as the cost to repair could be as much as the cost of half a new one and to add Freon involves installing a valve which they do not come with and if it’s low it is leaking somewhere.
