A Few More NOOBIE questions

1) I plan on running a wire underground in my backyard to connect to this 30amp RV power box on a pole. This way, I can "camp" in my backyard. LOL My question is... I bought the box already, but havent purchased the wire yet. The existing wire sticking 8 feet out of my house is an old hookup to my hottub which I dont have any longer; its a 10/2 to a dedicated circuit on my panel in my house. Can I just get 100 ft of 10/2 direct burial and hook it to this box? And somehow connect the 2 wires? My camper is a 2018 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 174BH.

2)Fresh Water hose... you think 25 ft will be enough for most campgrounds?

3) Black Water flush hose... 25 ft enough? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Trailer-Dum...t/392270730864

Picking up the camper this Saturday. Super excited. Thanks again for all the excellent tips Ive gathered here!!!

My first thought is to hire an electrician to avoid injury to yourself and TT.

X2 on the electrician & yes the existing wire ( if not damaged ) & ( not 220 volt ) will work but saving the 8’ is probably more trouble than it is worth - better safe than sorry - 25’ of water hose will be enough most ( but not all ) of the time & don’t forget a water pressure regulator ( 50ish lb ) Les

I would pull the 8 feet back inside and if you have to make a connection do it inside, not outside.

If you can, I would run the wire inside underground pipe to prevent accidents while planting, gardening etc. in the future.

My old hot tub was 240 volt. Be careful and make sure you know how to do this or pay a couple hundred to do the connections if you do the burial and yard post.

Use pipe anywhere outside to keep from mowing or weed wiping the wire.

Agree with a homerun for the power feed. Direct bury is 24" down, though. Remember it's only 120v and it would be a good idea to use a GFI breaker. Put the direct bury wire in conduit where it comes up to the surface. Either more research or an electrician is in your future.

25' water hose may not always be enough but the camp stores almost always have another hose if you need it.

I have only ever had a 15' sewer hose and it has been fine.

Newbie here as well. I bought a 50' hose thinking that would be more than I ever needed. First campsite -- it wasn't long enough. So I now have a 75' one too.

That should hopefully always cover where we go!

2. Buy a 25 foot hose or two. Use what you need. We also have a 10 foot hose when 25 ain't enough and 50 is too much. (Sometimes, 10 is enough!)

Why didn't I think about that! Didn't even think to combine a 50' and a 25' one. Whoops!
