Antenna woes

I have had our 195rb approx 1 1/2 years. We have been traveling a lot but can't get reception from out antenna anywhere. It is the wineguard. It is plugged in, the little button is on and green. I turn it 360 but never get a signal on samsung tv. Is it broken or does it just stink? Can a better replacement fit in the existing hole in the roof? Thanks to all for all your help on this forum.

Mine gets more stations than I do on antenna in the house.

Warranty?

Might to up top and check the cable and make sure the wall outlet is wired correctly also.

We have a Winegard and it works great. Pulls in OTA digital signals better than any of the cable hookups we’ve had at RV parks. I do sometimes use this site to help find the direction to point at for different channels as not all transmitters are in the same place: https://antennaweb.org/Address . I assume you ran a channel scan on your TV once you hooked up?

Has it ever worked? Is the antenna setting on your TV set to "Air" or Antenna? Does it work when hooked up to cable?

Assuming you are doing a new scan after adjusting it right?

Take off the wall plate and check the connections. Check the connections on the roof. Set TV to air and re scan.

I agree with the others who say to check your cabling. Make sure everything is good and tight and properly connected.

Then use a website like antennaweb to find a bearing based on your location, use a compass to aim the antenna. It doesn't have to be EXACT, but it's got to be close. Make sure you're not using the little arrow on the inside antenna bracket to aim the antenna (unless you've verified that it's "clocked" properly to your antenna; it was not in my TT) and be sure you're aiming it with the "wings" perpendicular to your bearing.

Once you've checked all this and properly aimed your antenna, then run the scan again on the TV. I would be surprised if you didn't get any channels. I could get them pretty easily 40-60 miles away from tower/tower clusters on my old winegard.

I upgraded to a King Jack in my TT and saw marginal improvement in signal acquisition, but it was easier to use IMO. You could add a wingman attachment to your wing antenna and probably do just as good...

Good chance you have a bad connection. I'm not familiar with the new TTs, our 2012, has a short jumper cable at the TV connection, that needs to be swapped around for antenna or for cable connection. Might want to look into that possibility too.

You can buy a RG6 tester, they are fairly cheap.

Thanks for all the antenna help. I wasn't scanning for channels properly. Now I'm a high tech redneck!
