They also sell a cap that fits over the awning at Camper World, I believe, I looked into getting one. My friend had sent me a link for it.

My awning seems to stay wet too. I saw this yesterday and thought about trying it.


It's a cap made out of a 2 liter bottle. Looks like a cheap and easy solution.

I would probably fall off the ladder and kill myself. And it looked like a hassle getting it over the end. I would also worry about it cutting the awning. I will just live with the poor design..

Wet is not a problem since there are no natural materials involved. Mildew is a problem but all you have to do to prevent it is break the chain of things it needs to grow. It needs water and something organic and heat. You can't do anything about the water or the heat but the organic part is dirt on the awning.

My awning is never wet... a little humid maybe but never wet.

This is why I apply waterproofing to our awning at least 3 times each season !!

Not yet. Going camping in two weeks I will do it then. I can't open it and dry it where I store it

I made a pair for my awning this week - with clear bottles. :-) We have had a good shower and a drizzle this week. I'll check the awning this afternoon to see if it's dry.
