Awning Strap

Hey all!

Have taken my new (to me) 2015 jayco 28BHS out twice since we got it this Christmas—there has been quite a bit of rain and we have gotten a chance to really enjoy our power awning. When I unroll the awning there is a strap that hangs down in the center. I usually try to toss it back onto the roof. What is it actually for?

It's for rolling the awning up in the manual mode. It should have been in the owner's packet. Original owner probably put it on the awning. I'd take it off until you need it, if you ever do.

X2. The strap has a "pin" at the top that fits in the groove in the awning tube. Just slide it to the open end of the groove, and slide it out. I store mine in the bin of "stuff" in my pass-through storage area.

Hope you enjoy your new-to-you Jayco! Happy Camping!
