Back hurts after sleeping on this mattress help please

After I bought my new tt about 6 weeks ago we have been out 3 times. Each time after sleeping on the mattress mine and my wife's backs hurt tremendously for day. Its a brand new mattress so without having to buy a different one what are some suggestions you have found to help with this problem??? Thank you in advance

We had the same problem with the mattress in out TT so we added a mattress topper that many suggested here. I think we ordered it from WalMart. The topper didn't make the mattress the $1200 mattress we have at home but it was a big improvement.

All RV OEM mattresses are junk. You can put a band aid on yours with a topper if you like toppers, I don't, or just bite the bullet and replace the entire thing.

I full time so a band aid wasn't my solution. A Sleep Number was. Much better and lighter also.

Edatlanta is correct they are junk. We didn't want to spend a small fortune on a replacement though so we settled on a 10 inch memory foam and it's much much better. Check all the usual web sites like Amazon etc and you can find good ones for around $300

Like others said, you can't make chicken soup out of the Denver mattress... if you catch my drift. Spend some money and buy a new mattress. We bought a 10" thick memory foam on Amazon for about $250 or $300. MUCH better.

Thanks

Thank you we have talked about a topper but I can agree that it is just a little bandaid. I will have to look into a 10" memory foam $300 is not to bad of a price all in all. I can only dream of a temperpedic I don't even have that nice of one at home.

Once I swapped out the crappy mattress that came with my trailer for a memory foam unit I was snug as a bug in a rug. The wife ans I sleep very comfortably now. I just wish me feet would not overhang the edge!

We tried the topper and it was a slight improvement but the money spent on a topper is better spent on a full mattress.

Be careful which memory foam topper you buy. We bought a cheap one from Walmart and the fumes were so bad my DW said it had to go or she would. She had some kind of allergic reaction to it. I took it out and put in a quality foam topper instead (not memory foam), no smell.

The topper I bought was on sale at Camping World and it turned our trailer bed into a very comfortable sleeping experience. It's 2 inches of memory foam plus 2 inches of pillow top. We love our RV bed now.

we have a bedroom slide and you have to be careful what you do with that mattress as it barely fits under the dresser when it is closed

I think this is the one I got, and it's on sale for 150 right now which is approximately what I think I paid as well.

One of the planned mods is a replacing the OEM mattress with a good quality one and increasing the stiffness of the foundation (thicker plywood and/or reinforcing strips).

For us, the Denver mattress was a huge improvement over 30+ year old foam on the convertible couch/bed.

Paid $332 for 8 inch Serenia sleep foam mattress from Amazon last year. Its cheaper now at $269. Sleep as good as our over priced Termerpedic at home. Tossed the "upgraded pillow top" that came with the camper. Spring mattresses are dead as disco..hahahaha

I knew that Denver mattress was going to be trouble from the get go. We never even slept on it. I purchased a 11" Brentwood memory gel mattress (full queen) on Amazon for $475, but I see that right now it's on sale for $399. We had one in our previous trailer and loved it, so I knew what I was getting.

Make sure you order the correct size. My old trailer required an RV 'short' queen (60x75"), but my 2016 Jay Flight uses a standard queen (60x80"). I believe Jayco uses both sizes depending on the model trailer you have.

We reinforced the frame underneath and added a 2" memory foam topper and found those inexpensive options to improve comfort greatly. We're just weekenders but if we camp more I'd probably invest in a whole new mattress.

We're just weekenders as well but last weekend we bought the 4" memory foam topper from walmart and put it on top of the original Denver mattress. The topper is thicker than the original by about an inch. We slept really well. We didn't have any fume issues. It was $135 in the store and was the best upgrade so far.
