Blach Silt from Hot water heater..

the last two trips I have black silt coming from my hot water heater vent area...I have cleaned the pipes and the area I can see...any tips I know its burning wrong and he air inlet that you can adjust is to rusted to make any adjustments...but for three years it burned clan and nice?/

Are you getting a lot of yellow flame? If the adjustment is rusted, you might need to replace that piece. Some of that rust might also be down in the tube causing it not to burn right.
