Can Norcold N305 2-Way Fridge Be Converted to 12v 3-Way?

I have a Norcold N305 2-way fridge: Propane and 120v.

I'd like to make it the N305.3 3-Way version by adding 12 volt capability.


It has the terminals for 12v:


It also has the 3rd detent position on the selector switch, though there is no battery icon labeling that position on the switch.




Can I just add the appropriate 12v power supply? Or, are there other critical parts missing?

Is there a Norcold-supplied conversation kit to switch to the N305.3 3-Way model?

Your best bet would be to call NORCOLD directly.

I doubt the 12 volt heating element is inside the fridge.


My real thoughts are that I had 2 campers with 12 volt options and every time I used them with 2 different tow vehicles with factory oversized alternators and full 7 pin hitches I did not get good cooling and I did get my batteries drained trying to run it.

I would rather run on propane, works better than 12 volt and cheaper than ruining food and battery even if you can get it to work at all.
