Converter size

Don’t have any 12 V power now looks like the converter has gone to the big campground in the sky. Looking for a replacement how do I know the size of the original one? I have a Jayco 267 BHS trailer 2013.

Should be able to do a net search once you find its model number.

My Greyhawk has a 60 amp model which works just fine for my 2 batteries and all the dry camping I do. My son has a 5th wheel that we ended up putting in a 100 amp model because he has 3 batteries and his stock 30 amp model would just not charge enough if the batteries were down.

It is just my opinion with no real facts to go on but I would select a 60 amp model if you have 1 or 2 batteries. You may be able to get by with a smaller one but why bother. If you are always hooked up you could get by with a smaller one.

Batteries can only take so much in charge. Over-sizing a unit won't cause any problems because the excess will just not be used. Under-sizing could be a problem.

How did you determine the Converter stopped working?? Voltmeter? Tell use the brand and model # and we will tell you the size of what you have.

It should be a 45 amp converter.

Not sure of the brand but it should be labeled while you are verifying the output, input and fuses.

I know this a old post, but is there any way to find what converter I have in a 2013 Jayco 266RKS, I want to either use AGM or lifepo4 batteries. If I use agm I think I need a 3 stage converter, lifepo4 I have no clue at this point.

I can't tell you exactly what model or brand converter you have in yours, but our 2012 19RD has a 3-stage charger in the converter. Ours, and probably yours will be compatible with AGMs, but not LifePo4,

Thanks, I just took the cover off to take a look and there isn’t anything to identify it as a 3 stage or not. I might try and call Jayco and see if I can get an answer. I looked in the manual I found online and that didn’t have any information
