Electrical Gremlin 2006 Jay Flight

Just bought a used 2006 Jayflight. Great condition, except the left tail light stays lit with the battery or plugged in to house current. I disconnected the battery and it still lights when plugged in to house current. Can't find the problem. Suggestions?

This article may help
https://www.etrailer.com/question-43047.html

i would start by looking at the 7 way plug or cord make sure it is not shorted or corroded. then look in the junction box for loose corroded wires.

disconnect the battery and plug into house current only. is the light still lit?
if yes continue on:

leave the battery disconnected. go to your breakers and fuses.
start pulling the car type fuses until you see if the tail light goes out.

then move on the breakers and see if the light goes out.

Maybe the on board battery charger is also powering the light or its shorted or connected to another circuit.

Pull the light and swap it with the one on the other side maybe light is the problem.

maybe some tried to tap into the tail light behind it for a backup camera or something

It took forever, but finally I solved the problem. At the connection block on the front of the trailer all the wiring colors seemed to match as I figured they should. As a last resort I disconnected every wire and began testing each one and making the correct connections until everything worked. The color of the wires do not match each other at the connections, but everything works as it should.
I know the problem wasn't my truck, because everything works perfectly on my 18' flatbed trailer. I believe the previous owner a tried to fix something and made it worse.
Finally! Now ready to go camping.
