Extended Warranty

Tried a search for this as I'm sure it has been addressed but couldn't find information.....We take delivery of our new 2018 White Hawk 27RB next week and I'm sure they will try to sell us an extended warranty. We plan to go full time around January 2019 and they are aware. Is the extended warranty worthwhile? How much would we expect to pay (don't want to be sticker shocked)? Does it have to be rolled into the deal or can it be extended within the original 2 year warranty time?

Don't waste your money, instead put what they would charge you aside for any needed repairs after the warranty is up. These warranties are loaded with so many fish hooks skewed to protect the warranty company, some require annual inspections by the dealer which cost several hundred. Do a Google search on these type of warranties and you will be sure to keep your hard earned money in your pocket.

Thank you - that's kind of what we were thinking would make more sense. Hubby is super handy and can fix most things. He went the school of youtube

Agree with Sundancer. Had to take our 2013 White Hawk in for a few repairs under regular warranty but have been able to fix the few issues we had with the unit after the 2 year Jayco warranty expired. Really, other than cosmetic issues we haven't had any major problems. I'd rather fix those small issues myself because I know its done right. By the way, after 5 years and 20,000+ miles the White Hawk is holding up pretty dang good.

I just purchased the extended warranty on our new jayflight. I opted for the jayplus platinum. It covers just about everything with the exception of the roof. It adds 5 yrs of coverage starting after the factory 2 yrs. $1700 added right in the loan. Maybe I need it maybe I don't but while I'm making payments on something I don't want to pay out of pocket for repairs!

I used the jayplus as a bargaining tool. “Throw it in, and make a sale right now”.

I would not. They may also void the extended warranty if you are full-timeing in one that's not built for that.

If you have any rusty, squeaky snakes, get it. Cuz it's snake oil.

IMHO it's strictly a hand holding feeling for the buyer and cause for a gigglefest for the dealer as it assures it will get more of buyers money over the length of the contract.

Other than that they're fine.
