help with iRV30 radio operation
Hello Group, Just picked up a 2018 195RB with the iRV30 radio. No manuals. When playing all 4 speakers - 2 internal and 2 external are live. Will someone please explain how to turn off the external speakers?
Thanks in advance

Push the main selector knob on the left until you get to “Fade;” turn the knob right to the Max (7, I believe.). Turning fully the other way turns only the outside speakers on. In between is both on. At least that’s how ours works.

You bet. These iRV units will never be confused with high-end Bose equipment. I’ve also had problems with it pairing with my phone via Bluetooth. Sometimes it pairs right up, other times, no. I’ve found the fix to be resetting it by pushing a paper clip in the reset hole behind the faceplate.

Our 2018 21QB has the IRV radio and it has three buttons on the right side marked 1,2,3. Those buttons control the inside and out side speakers. You have to play with them to find the proper speaker setting.

A side question for you -- do you get AM band reception with yours? Maybe you don't even care about that, but on mine in our 2018 SLX267BHSW, I've had it worked on three times to fix no AM reception, and dealer and Jayco finally gave up, so curious if others have a similar problem.

Not sure — don’t think I’ve ever tried to use AM, but the FM has very good reception. I’ll check next time I’m at the rig.

Yeah, I'm a dinosaur re AM. And actually, the FM reception is mediocre compared to what I get in the truck sitting just outside the trailer. But they've replaced the radio, replaced and jicked w the antenna and connections, and then the last time they put in a nearly $300 "booster" of some sort, but still nothing. I wish they had just given me $300 to stop complaining. Anyway, thanks for checking.

Crappy iRV29
I meen for Jayco to keep using these pieces of *&% says something about the company. The iRV29 dont even get AM and to connect to blue tooth "most" of the time i have to hold my phone within an inch. Oh and the iRv 29 dont have a reset button.
Nothing will play through the Aux cables either..
Oh and the power kept going on and off so I had to make a better connection with the crappy cheap @f clamp connectors in back.
And we only brought it about 8 miles from dealer to home so far.
Oh and $419.00 for the optional "NON SMART" tv is a joke. Went out and bought a 1080p HD smart tv roku ready for less than $180.00 out the door.
Next time i will know better !

Hi GL. Went down and checked for AM reception on my unit. Nothing — but I’m thinking it may be because I swiveled down the antenna flat on the roof to put the cover over it. The FM worked great, though. Maybe it does not use that antenna? I’m taking the cover off in a week or two. I’ll check again.

Thanks for checking. Ours didn't even show AM station numbers at first, then did after the first "fix" but still couldn't get any reception, and that's how it's been ever since. Remarkable fail in today's tech age.

Mine shows the numbers and even stops at what should be stations when doing a search. But no reception. I’ll update in a couple of weeks.

So, I pulled the TT cover and straightened up the antenna on the roof. The radio on AM band stops on station frequencies but no reception. I’m taking the rig into the dealer tomorrow for an awning fix. I’ll ask them about the radio. I don’t really use AM but it bugs me that it doesn’t work. Thanks for pointing it out!

Took the trailer in for a fix on the awning and showed them the radio with AM not working. They’ve submitted it under warranty and ordered a new one. Not holding out much hope it will be any different, but worth a try.

Yeah, they put in a new one in my case also. I was finally told they don't know how to fix it and that they're telling folks to stream radio stations on their smart phones and then blue tooth to the radio and speakers. Not a reasonable solution. Thanks for followup reporting.

Yes, I don’t hold out much hope. It’s mind boggling — how do you not know how to make an AM radio that works? It’s not like it’s new technology for Pete’s sake.

It has been my observation that many radios fall short on the AM side. I don't think manufacturers put much work into them knowing that the majority of people only listen to FM.

Got a call from my dealer today saying the replacement radio was approved under warranty and would be ordered today. They’ll call next week to set up replacement. I can’t complain about the promptness of the service.
