hitch lock
We will likely keep our trailer by the house until the end of summer, then it will go into storage. I would like to keep a hitch lock on it in both locations. I realize that a determined thief can overcome one of these quickly, but I'm hoping for something that can slow one down a bit or make my trailer less of an easy pick.
What would you recommend?

Any of them are a less of an easy pick for people who have respect.
For those who don't (They have crowbars, battery operated grinder etc.) probably can do it in less than a minute. Watch some U-tube video's.
Insurance is your best protection!

Check out the "Long Long Honeymoon" (loloho) channel on YouTube. He has reviewed a couple of really high end locks. One that pretty much encases the entire end of the tongue, and another that is basically a Denver boot to prevent the TT from rolling. If you got the bucks, they look like great options.
Me, I use the $20 pin lock. Might slow them down for 10 minutes. Took me about 30-45 minutes to break the last one when the cylinder seized up, but I don't own a grinder.

Octo,
What kind of trailer do you have?
The flange under the ball socket on my rig is wider than anything I've ever had. I tried to find both a coupler and hitch pin lock. These are some I tried that didn't fit (see pics). I settled for running a Master Python through the axles to secure it (or, should I say, slow the bad guys down a bit). There are more expensive locks out there but they were out of my price range. Maybe someone else here has better ideas. But, like ALJO said, insurance is a good thing.

I might be fooling myself, but I prefer square cut chain through the rims, wrapped around the axle with a square cut padlock up under the trailer. The bad guys are lazy, so the more work you can make it look like, the better.

John, our trailer is a 26BH. (We haven't even picked it up from the dealer yet.)
We got insurance taken care of earlier this week, so we're fine there. I'm hoping to dissuade the lazier variety of thieves without spending too much.

We have this same proven lock as well. We wrap the chains over the top and use a large American lock on at the bottom of the proven lock. This way they cannot use the chains to tow the trailer away.

That Proven lock is expensive.
When I bought mine, I wanted the key location, to be challenging to drill. So my key, is inserted from the underside. I insert the key by feel. You have to lay on your back to drill out the lock, getting lots of metal chips in the face.
My goal is to get a crook to move on, to an easier target.
A tongue latch lock is useless to keep away crook away, on a parked tt. You can, drop the tongue right over a 1 7/8" ball, and pull away, without touching the lock. It is not very secure, but you can drive on smooth roads for a long time, without an issue.

So I got my Proven Lock today and tried to put it on with chains within the lock as suggested. I gather from reading some other posts I will need another lock of some sort to lock the chains? I could not get the chains locked as they show in the video. Gotta admit I’m kinda disappointed after spending $275! Suggestions? I took pics and sent to them prior to ordering as suggested. They told me to buy the 2516J. In looking close at the inner plate it has a 2516-A stampeding it. Maybe they sent wrong one? They are closed till Monday! Thanks everyone.

Wrong part, ugh. Box labeled as well with 2516 A?
I won't open mine this week if I see the A vs J marking.

Here is Proven's response to my questions. It should work, just will cost me more. But it will be secure!
Thank you for contacting us. I can confirm that you have received the correct product. The stamps on the items are a reference for our manufacturing shop.
The Model 2516-J does not allow you to secure your chains inside the lock, however there are 2 cutouts/holes on the bottom of the outer shield that are designed to lock your safety chains using a padlock. I've also included an unfinished demo video that shows how to properly execute this method. We do have an extended shackle 3" padlock available for purchase, however it's not yet available on our website. The cost is $50 and of course can be keyed to match the rest of the locks in your order. Should you wish make your purchase to include the padlock, please call us at 877-400-8423 to place your order over the phone. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Thank you!

Very happy with their customer service!
